Table Mountain & Kirstenbosch Gardens Walk

Beat the crowds to the cable station and enjoy Table Mountain in the fresh morning air. Once on top, enjoy visibility over some 70 km and take a closer look at the city Sectacular views from atop Table Mountain below through telescopes. Spectacular views will accompany you whichever way you turn.

Botanists will find enough to keep them busy among its 1,470 plant species, and bird lovers will be just as enchanted. Enjoy a general interest walk with a look at the geology, flora, fauna and the history of Table Mountain.

We take the aerial cable way to the top, followed by a circular route on the Western and Central Table, using the front Table path and returning via Echo Valley. For anyone slightly interested in walking, a trip to Cape Town without a walk on this famous mountain would be incomplete.

Annual beds at Kirstenbosch Gardens
Then it's on to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens sprawled over on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Recently declared one of the world's seven top botanical gardens, it offers nearly 6,000 indigenous plant species. Enjoy a short lecture and a walk in the gardens with the emphasis on the Cape Floral Kingdom and the Cape Fynbos, one of six to be found throughout the world.
