DAY 1Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth

On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport the group will be met and assisted by a representative of Felix Unite Tours onto their connecting flight to Port Elizabeth. On arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport you will be met and transferred to Hacklewood Hill Country House.

After check-in, and a bit of time to relax and freshen up the group will be treated to a late dinner at the guest house.

The Garden RouteDAY  2Port Elizabeth to Knysna

After breakfast we depart the suburbs of Port Elizabeth and head westwards, soon reaching the Tsitsikamma Mountains and indigenous forests, continuing to the Plettenberg Bay area. 

We arrive at Hog Hollow Country after lunch, the lodge is situated near The Crags, before the town of Plettenberg Bay. It is secluded in the heart of this picturesque region which epitomizes the Garden Route's charms. The reminder of the afternoon will be at leisure. Pre-dinner drinks and dinner will be hosted by the lodge.

DAY  3:  Plettenburg Bay

This morning we travel through the town of Plettenberg for a short walk in Robberg Nature Reserve, perched high above the pounding ocean. We travel to the Wilderness, the 'lake district' of the Garden Route, where we board the Outeniqua Choo Tjoe steam train for a scenic trip to Knysna. 

On arrival at Knysna station the group will be met and transferred to the Knysna lagoon for a cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where we enjoy a seafood lunch. After lunch we cruise back across the lagoon and return to Hog Hollow.

DAY  4Plettenburg Bay to Oudtshoorn

Today we cross the Outeniqua Pass to reach Oudtshoorn. Our first stop in Oudtshoorn will be a visit to an ostrich show farm where we will be guided through the development of ostriches. 

Lunch will include an optional ostrich egg dish and other local delicacies. After lunch we'll visit the Cango Caves, vast limestone caverns which have only been partially explored. We arrive at our guest house in the late afternoon.

DAY  5Oudtshoorn to Gansbaai

The Little KarooToday's journey will take us through the 'Little Karoo' and Barrydale to Swellendam, capital of the short-lived 18th century rebel republic. After lunch we continue to Caledon, and then to Gansbaai.

DAY  6:  Gansbaai

Experience the stunning region on foot, on horseback or on a drive in the company of highly qualified guides who provide a fascinating insight to these eco-systems.

DAY  7Gansbaai to Paarl

From Gansbaai we travel over the Franschhoek Pass to the winelands region of Paarl.

DAY  8Paarl to Cape Town

Travel through the beautiful wine regions of the Cape.After breakfast we explore the town of Paarl, and visit two of the local wine estates for a cellar tour and wine tasting at one of the estates. We then travel to the university town of Stellenbosch, the second oldest European settlement in South Africa. We stroll through the town to get a better look at the best preserved historical buildings in South Africa. We lunch at Spier Wine Estate which is on our route back to Cape Town. 

This afternoon we depart on a cruise to Robben Island from the Embarkation Point on Jetty 1 at the V & A Waterfront. The trip across to the island takes about 40 minutes; it is separated from the mainland by about 9 kilometer's of sea. Once a leper colony and mental institution, and recently an infamous prison for political prisoners, the island is now a monument to the freedom struggle. Once on the island you will be transported around in a bus, and the tour may be guided by one of the former prison inmates, many of whom are now employed as guides. The tour ends back at the Embarkation point in the Waterfront.

The group will have a few hours at leisure to shop and look around before meeting up at a central restaurant in the complex for dinner.

DAY  9:  Cape Town

Views from atop Table Mountain are magnificent!Early this morning we will beat the crowds to the lower cable station for the ascent of Table Mountain (strictly weather permitting), unquestionably one of the world's most famous landmarks. Enjoy visibility over some 70km and take a close look at the city below through numerous telescopes. Experience unforgettable sweeping views of the fairest Cape. We return to the lower cable station and travel at a pace that allows you to explore the beauty of the Cape Peninsula.

Depart for the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve along one of South Africa's most scenic and popular routes, passing Hout Bay and enjoying the dramatic view from Chapman's Peak Drive. Cape Point, where two marine ecosystems meet, is the highlight. Time is made for a relaxing lunch at the Black Marlin seafood restaurant, which overlooks the ocean at Miller's Point.

This afternoon we visit the Jackass penguin colony at Boulder's Beach, drive through the historic naval base town of Simon's Town and allow time for a stroll through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

The Cedarberg area in which Bushman's Kloof is locatedDAY  10Cape Town to Clanwilliam

Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your charter flight to Bushmans Kloof , approximately 270 km north of Cape Town in the foothills of the Cedarberg.

DAY  11:  Clanwilliam

Spend the participating in the various day activities on offer at the lodge.

DAY 12:  Clanwilliam to Cape Town

After the morning game drive and brunch we transfer to the landing strip and board our charter flight back to Cape Town. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport the group will be met and transferred to The Commodore Hotel in the V & A Waterfront. Fly out of Port Elizabeth AirportYou will be allocated day rooms in the hotel and will be able to make use of the hotel facilities on offer.

In the late afternoon the group will be transferred to Cape Town International Airport.
