Mountains, valleys, rivers, waterfalls, pockets of primal forest and a colorful profusion of flowers and birds decorate the countryside, while the savannah lands of the lowveld teem with wildlife.

Steeped in the history of pioneers, hunters and fortune seekers, fascinating gold rush towns abound. Here Pilgrims' Rest is a living museum, and one of this area's major tourist attractions.

On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport the groups will be met and transferred to the Lesedi Cultural Village, nestling in the pristine bushveld at the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountains.

Depart the village and travel to Mpumalanga. The routing includes the spectacular scenery of the Blyde River Canyon which ranks among the natural wonders of Africa, and is the third largest canyon in the world. Overnight in Pilgrims' Rest, a gold mining town which in 1986 the town was proclaimed a National Monument.

After breakfast, travel north into the Timbavati Reserve where we spend the following two nights in search of the Big Five. Here in the heart of Timbavati, one of the largest and most famous game reserves, visitors will come face to face with Africa as it always was, yet with all the creature comforts and warm hospitality to make your visit a memorable one.

Day at leisure in the reserve. Enjoy two game activities: at sunrise and sunset, either a walk or drive in open landrovers.

Depart Timbavati Reserve early this morning as we have a great distance to travel. Drive through rich farmland and pine plantations to reach the highveld and later this afternoon we arrive at Johannesburg International Airport in time for your onward flight or connect up with your next module.
