Walkabout River Lodge 

A-frame chalet at Walkabout Camp is the latest addition to Felix Unite's base camps on the Breede River. It is a nature reserve bordered by 3,5 km of river frontage. This exclusive conference, adventure-training and resource center is situated on one of the most scenic sections of the river. It offers abundant birdlife, indigenous fauna and flora and outstanding adventure facilities, including South Africa's first high ropes course. The high ropes course is a complex construction of poles, platforms, cables and ropes designed to provide challenges in leadership training, team-building and group effectiveness in a novel way. 

Walkabout is ideal for smaller corporate and private groups of up to 30 people. Sleeping facilities at WalkaboutAccommodation is offered in thatched chalets, semi-detached thatched stone cottages, and A-frame chalets on stilts. A log cabin-style conference center is elevated to take in the full view of the river. Enjoy 5-star bush cuisine, comfortable accommodation, hot showers, flushing toilets, and much more.

Walkabout also has a testing 4x4 route for full or half-day trips, and an adventure hiking trail. Other activities include river rafting and bass fishing.  Kloofing, mountain trails, abseiling, a zip-wire slide, horse-riding, parasailing, and water-skiing are all available nearby.

 

Round the Bend

"Round the Bend" River CampNestled amongst the trees on the banks of the river is a favorite with guests wanting a total getaway from city life. You are accommodated in cozy thatched A-frame chalets in a magnificent riverside setting. Accommodation includes comfortable beds with sheets, pillows and duvets (comforter), flushing toilets and hot showers.

Extensive landscaping and new chalets were completed recently. These changes also include magnificent new thatched dining, pub, conference and leisure facilities, all with sweeping river views. The camp has both undercover and outdoor recreation areas with fireplaces. Besides canoeing and rafting, there are high rocky cliffs above the river that are ideal for abseiling. There are also good 4x4 dirt roads and tracks for scrambling, and it's great turf for mountain biking.

Situated on a hilltop overlooking the river is a restored Cape Dutch farmhouse surrounded by a laager of covered ox-wagons fitted with double beds. Here you sleep in cozy A-frame chalets, and for the adventurous, eight ox-wagons can also be used for accommodation. Accommodation includes comfortable beds with sheets, pillows and duvets (comforter), flushing toilets and hot showers. The camp has both undercover and outdoor recreation areas with fireplaces.
