White Water Rafting


Get ready for the ride of your life!From its source in the Drakensberg Mountains, the Tugela River flows through the rolling hills of KwaZulu-Natal, offering the best white water rafting in South Africa. 

No previous experience is necessary. Highly qualified (SARA) River Guides accompany you on each trip, and they'll take you through an informative safety briefing and paddling demonstration before you set-off for the ride of your life: 19 rapids, graded from 2-4, with names like Rollercoaster, Horrible Horace and Whiplash Smile, send you on an adrenaline-filled roller-coaster ride that covers a distance of 22 km.

Departures: Scheduled departures each weekend if you wish to join an existing group; anytime for a party numbering a minimum of 25 people
Departs: Arrive at the meeting point at 17h00. Guides will meet you and transport you to the base camp on the banks of the river.
Cost: $100; $135; $180 per person
Includes: accommodation, all meals, specialist river guide, rafts and equipment, abseiling
Excludes: transportation to the camp, personal spending and drinks (available from the cash bar)

Mfongosi Camp on the Tugela River Enjoy delectable bush cuisine, and relaxing nights in traditional thatched accommodation at Mfongosi Camp on the banks of the river. From here you can hike up to the spectacular Manziwayo Falls—a series of seven waterfalls, where you abseil past one of the falls and rockslide into a crystal clear mountain pool.
