Catering the BMW
Launch...
Indaba News
At the recent launch of the prestigious new BMW 3-series in the Simon’s Town dry dock, all eyes were on the unveiling of the latest sleek model on the central floating stage. But behind the scene of the vast banqueting hall, Felix Unite Coastal Caterers had the awesome task of preparing meals for three separate functions a day, for approximately a thousand people over five days!
Once more the group synergy proved
invaluable: With Catering, Chameleon Indabas (the Group’s event management division), Felix Unite Tours and Felix Unite Production Support all pulling together to ensure that months of planning and preparation resulted in perfect
coordination.
But the pièce de résistance was the main meal of the event. Guests were presented with a mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres of quenelles of fresh cape salmon, with a dill and pernod beurre blanc sauce, followed by French cutlets of Karoo lamb with a
cumin-centered crust, accompanied by wasabi polenta chopped with an apple and onion
marmalade, and steamed seasonal
petites legumes. Dessert was a delicious trio of fresh fruit sorbets in a brandy snap basket floating on a mixed berry coulis.
Coffee and home-made
friandises rounded off a superb dinner.
Apart from making inroads in the corporate industry, Felix Unite Caterers
have catered for numerous television commercials and four feature films, and are working a two month stint in the Namibian desert, catering for a new movie shoot.
Director Steven Glass reports, "Since we started
trading, our turnover has almost tripled, and the future looks undeniably bright!"
